LION’S MANE (Hericium erinaceus)

Lion’s Mane mushrooms are light-colored, shaggy, and identified through their long spines which make them look like a puff of animal fur. Native to Europe, North America, and Asia, it grows wild in a single clump on hardwood stumps or logs. They are celebrated by many for their health properties and unique taste. Other fun names include monkey head mushroom, bearded tooth mushroom, satyr's beard, bearded hedgehog mushroom, or pom-pom mushroom.
